On Thursday 25 October we will be hosting a Chat Up around the question 'What is Normal?' at Wellcome Collection. It will be an evening exploring ideas of human value, difference and love from the viewpoint of people with learning disabilities and autism. Hosted by Tilley and Del the Pig and featuring a surprise performance, this will be a great way to introduce ourselves to Wellcome Collection, the home of our exciting new research project, Heart n Soul at The Hub!

We are kicking off our exciting new residency at Wellcome Collection, Heart n Soul at The Hub, with an immersive audio-visual installation, ‘Heart n Soul: Our Voice, Our Way'. We will be sharing the voices, stories and photos of people with learning disabilities and autism featured in The Big 30 Archive. The event is accompanied by one of our Chat Up events, ‘What is Normal?’.

The crew are spending Thursdays in August at the Could be Good studio making art that represents them, building on the artwork created for the spectacular Do Your Own Thing album celebrating Heart n Soul's 30th birthday.

SOUNDLAB PLAY RAVE

Come and try out the latest music technology with the people that create it, before we have a mini rave playing new tunes created by you! 

What's On:

The technology on offer will include:

  • DADA machines  
  • Hackoustic
  • Blocs Wave by Ampify
  • Novation –  bringing the latest music hardware & software controls such as circuit and the launch pad series
  • The KRFT app by Studio Amplify
  • Doit Kits - small kits where you can make your own synthesiser

Plus, in the garden there will be a music stage, supported by Novation and Ampify, live radio and a Heart n Soul shop.

Performers include Heart n Soul artists K-Dog, Maurice, Electric Fire and Heart n Soul digital DJs (Dean, Wayne & David). Other invited artists include Lynsey Dart (known as Electric Sister), Conrad Murray & BAC Beatbox Academy

On this special night we will bring together Heart n Soul artists to perform music spanning our thirty years and beyond.

Heart n Soul artists Pino Frumiento, Mark Snead, Lizzie Emeh, The Fish Police, Too Hot For Candy and Electric Fire will perform with a full live band. There will also be Club DJs on the night to keep the party going. Get ready for an evening filled with amazing live music, performances and a few surprises!

Our club night for young people with learning disabilities aged 10-25, their friends and families is back!

Come and join us for the launch of the Do Your Own Thing album with live music and performances featuring the London Symphony Orchestra. You can also enjoy open mic sessions, DJing, more live music and art. The club is a chance for you to have a good time, make new friends and be yourself!
