2001: THE HEART N SOUL BLUE ALBUM
In 2001 Heart n Soul released The Blue Album, Heart n Soul’s second album after Volume 1 of our Greatest Hits. This was a much more contemporary and mixed selection of Heart n Soul music, whereas Greatest Hits Vol 1 was mainly made up of songs written and performed by Heart n Soul artist and co-founder Pino Frumiento. Different people collaborated on the songs and took the lead on each track, so there was a real variety of talent and sounds.
The Blue Album was recorded at Bluestone Studios in Notting Hill Gate and the album artwork (pictured on the left) was a photo of two people with disabilities kissing on the dancefloor at the Beautiful Octopus Club. The sound engineer was Chris Wyles who had a previous career as the drummer for Shakin’ Stevens!
